Introduction from our Director
Steve Irvine
Director, Recruit 66 Ltd
| Steve started his career in hospitality when he was invited to study Hotel Management at the Stonnington Beach Catering School in Bermuda. He graduated with a Diploma and went back to his homeland to start working in the industry as a Commis Waiter at Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire. He quickly moved through the ranks to Head Waiter Where he served Royalty and Celebrities such as Princess Anne, The Sultan of Brunei, Steven Spielberg and Sean Connery. |  |
| His career moved on to Turnberry in Ayrshire, The Grosvenor House in London, The Southampton Princess in Bermuda and then back to the UK to manage with the Hilton Group before moving onto his first catering general managment position at Durham County Cricket Club. |  |
| Whilst in Bermuda he became friends with Footballer Jamie Redknapp and Singer Louise Nurding. When Jamie’s career was hit yet again with injury which ruled him out of the World Cup in 1998 he phoned Steve in Bermuda to organise his wedding this sparked of Steve’s Career and interest in Event Management. The Wedding was featured in Hello & OK Magazine where shots can be seen of Steve with the celebrity couple. |  |
| Since then Steve has been involved or managed the Catering and Bars in many events such as The Labour Conference in Brighton, The European PGA Tour, The Labour Conference in Newcastle, Elton John Concerts, UB40 Concert and The England Cricket Internationals. He was also the Hospitality Manager for the Opening Team at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead where he was nominated for the North East Industry Awards. |  |
| During his time in the North East, Steve always felt there was a serious need to supply a top quality Bar and Waiting team via an agency to the Hotels and Catering Outlets where training, communication, grooming standards and personal presentation was first and foremost. Recruit 66 was born in an area were staff struggled to reach the Hotels and venues (County Durham & North Yorkshire). |  |
| To train the team Steve combines Event Management and Recruitment so that he can work hands on with his own team safe in the knowledge that he has seen them perform to his standards before allowing them to work elsewhere a formula that so far has been a huge success. |  |
